Maybe there is a third option...that we are all characters in a dream God is having. One of the peculiarities of my own dreams is that I can't read things in the dream...I may pick up a book or see a street sign but I can never seem to focus and bring out the letters and in my dream I'll puzzle and puzzle over this until I wake up and wonder why, once more, I didn't recognize the symptom and realize I was dreaming since I've been in dreams and experienced the symptoms so many times before. And I find that very similar to the world of quantum physics wherein the harder we look for reality the more it isn't there but the more it seems to be only a field of probabilities, and thus...maybe what we think is consensus reality is simply a dream of one mind (God's) with many characters (you, me, everybody else...) who are all really a figment of the one God mind having the dream...and one day, perhaps we'll wake up and realize how silly it was that while dreaming this dream we took things so seriously and were so afraid of the monsters and didn't take the opportunity to fly around more.
Alrighty then, Joe. I'm gonna take this opportunity to fly around more.
