American death-tech goliath Boeing has announced a long-delayed in-flight firing for the smaller of its two aeroplane raygun-cannon prototypes, the Advanced Tactical Laser (ATL). The ATL blaster, mounted in a Hercules transport aircraft, apparently "defeated" an unoccupied stationary vehicle. "This milestone demonstrates that directed energy weapon systems will transform the battlespace and save lives," said Boeing exec Greg Hyslop...

Telepathic DNA

The DNA Mystery: Scientists Stumped By "Telepathic" Abilities

DNA has been found to have a bizarre ability to put itself together, even at a distance, when according to known science it shouldn't be able to. Explanation: None, at least not yet.

Scientists are reporting evidence that contrary to our current beliefs about what is possible, intact double-stranded DNA has the “amazing” ability to recognize similarities in other DNA strands from a distance. Somehow they are able to identify one another, and the tiny bits of genetic material tend to congregate with similar DNA. The recognition of similar sequences in DNA’s chemical subunits, occurs in a way unrecognized by science. There is no known reason why the DNA is able to combine the way it does, and from a current theoretical standpoint this feat should be chemically impossible.

Even so, research published in ACS’ Journal of Physical Chemistry B, shows very clearly that homology recognition between sequences of several hundred nucleotides occurs without physical contact or presence of proteins. Double helixes of DNA can recognize matching molecules from a distance and then gather together, all seemingly without help from any other molecules or chemical signals.

Our Time

Understanding Our Time

by Terry Boardman

Bewilderment is widespread today. It is commonly recognised that modern society is experiencing a major crisis that is economic, ecological, political and cultural. We seem to be facing one of those major nodes of significant shift in history that have occurred in former times such as at the end of the Roman Empire c.300, the end of the Middle Ages c.1500, the emergence of the national and 'natural scientific' state c.1650, the revolutionary epoch c.1800, or the First World War. Confusion is commonplace at such times, and solutions seem hard to find. How can we make sense of what is going on? The question could also be posed as: how can we find our bearings by understanding where we are in our story?

Conventional views of history do not help us much; embedded within a mainstream natural scientific worldview, they condemn us to a random position in both space and time: our Earth is a beautiful but insignificant speck in the Universe and is bound merely for an ultimate 'heat death'. Compared to the astronomical wonders revealed to us by technological marvels like the Hubble telescope, all our cultural achievements and our human relationships have little or no significance. Our lives are equally random happenings that occur only once. After death there is nothing except the return of our ashes or corpses to the material Earth. Philosophically then, all is an absurdity, ultimately quite meaningless; existence is a comedy show, and all we can do is 'have a laugh', as the English might put it. Certainly, there is no sense in our western culture's religion and the calendar based on it. The second millennium that we celebrated just 9 years ago is seen as a convenient fiction, nothing more. 2009 is held to be but a number.

From such a bleak philosophical perspective, which its adherents like to think of as existentially 'heroic', it is indeed hard to make sense of what is going on at present. We move on merely one step at a time into the darkness of the future out of a dimly lit past with only the little candle of our intellect, which was lit by the beginning of natural science just 400 years ago, to illuminate the vast darkness. The position of those who adhere to the conventional, western secular humanist outlook on life as represented by our mainstream media is akin to that of the British soldiers in the Great War who sang: "we're 'ere because we're 'ere because we're 'ere because we're 'ere....", and cosmologists just add "and because there was a Big Bang." There would certainly seem to be more to the present crisis than just: "the bankers were too greedy, the politicians too lax, our industry too exploitative of Nature, and the terrorists too resentful of our freedoms", but in essence, that is all too often what conventional analysis boils down to.

By contrast to this tragi-comic bleakness, which reminds one rather of the dour weltanschauung of the pagan Anglo-saxons, the spiritual scientist Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) offered a number of approaches by which we can understand the past in a way that helps us to make sense both of the present and also of intuitions about what may be coming towards us from the future. Some of these approaches Steiner was presenting anew, or recasting, for modern times; they belonged to the esoteric knowledge of previous eras. Other indications were his own contribution. Steiner made innumerable contributions that help us make sense of historical events, but seven major ones can be noted:

The Ever-Present Origin

Jean Gebser and The Ever-Present Origin

Gebser's theory is that human consciousness is in transition, and that these transitions are "mutations" and not continuous. These jumps or transformations involve structural changes in both mind and body. There are a number of these levels:

  1. The archaic structure
  2. The magic structure
  3. The mythical structure
  4. The mental structure
  5. The integral stage

The structures of consciousness

Gebser notes that the various structures of consciousness are revealed by their relationship to space and time. For example, the mythical structure embodies time as cyclical/rhythmic and space as enclosed. Whereas the mental structure lives time as linear, directed or "progressive" and space becomes the box-like homogeneous space of geometry — a vacuum. But just as each consciousness structure erupts it also eventually becomes deficient. The deficient form of the mental structure Gebser called the 'rational' structure. Of particular significance is his realization that previous consciousness structures continue to operate. The rational structure of awareness seeks to deny the other structures with its claim that humans are exclusively rational.

Birds on the wire:
Song inspired by feathered flock strikes a chord with listeners

By Claire Bates | MailOnline.co.uk

A musician has proven he is quite the songbird by creating a composition inspired by a feathered flock perching on some telephone wires.

Jarbas Agnelli from Brazil, 46, spotted a picture of the birds in a newspaper and noticed they were arranged like notes on a musical score.

'I cut out the photo and decided to make a song, using the exact location of the birds as notes,' he said.
'I knew it wasn't the most original idea in the universe. I was just curious to hear what melody the birds were creating.'

He arranged his score using a xylophone, bassoon, oboe and clarinet. However, he was reluctant to take credit for the beautiful piece.
'The pleasing melody is not my invention. It was the birds' idea,' he said.

God's Dirty Work

Frank Furedi

Getting God to do their dirty work

In seeking to use religion to force people to change their eco-unfriendly behaviour, greens are debasing both religious belief and scientific truth.

We live in world where the cynical manipulation of people’s fears and anxieties often overrides informed public debate. Principles and beliefs seem to have become negotiable commodities, and all too often the search for truth gives way to doing ‘whatever works’. In recent decades religious figures have, at various times, embraced the authority of science, therapy and the environment as a way of communicating their messages. Indeed, the old statement ‘our faith demands…’ has increasingly given way to the claim that ‘the research shows…’. If Christian fundamentalists can reinvent their dogma in the language of ‘creationist science’, how long before atheist scientists seek to justify their moral crusade in the language of religion?

The Components of Waking Up

Anesthesia and the components of waking up

-John Kaminsky

Breathe deeply. The anesthesia you have ingested throughout your life has put you in a coma, a deep trance from which you likely will never emerge. Now, perhaps as never before, it is critically important that you wake up and become as hip as you can to the people who are planning your death.

Hell On Earth

History Says US Is Headed
For Hell On Earth
By A. Merton
9-15-9

Long before 9/11, we were bathed in threats of terrorists. Before 9/11, there was talk of attacks on buildings with planes. Then, lo and behold, a terrorist attack. A dramatic attack striking to the heart of the country. Could there have been a more visually dramatic event? It is one that we now know was set up in advance by Cheney, and perhaps Bush and Rumsfeld, and whatever other demonic "officials" would actually plot such a vicious, evil thing. We know because the investigation's coverup proved the case by what it wouldn't tell, by what it denied, by what made no sense. Kissinger, one assumes, must surely have been involved, this being so fascist a thing, he being so good at it.

After creating terror to rip into this country, the bills came forward, some having been prepared in advance. The Patriot Act was the step by step dream of structuring a totalitarian country here, but in addition they had also started writing - before 9/11 - the Model State Emergency Health Plan Act, a bill that planned in very great detail for a pandemic that hadn't happened and how to use such a pandemic to establish fascist control over us, state by state.

So, while these snakes may want us to think them prescient, we see they are just fore planners who simply arrange fear in advance, lie elaborately about their secret actions, and use those actions to create fake enemies and stoke already stimulated fears so we will live in perpetual fear and give up everything to be safe.

Epidemic Of Narcissism

The ego epidemic: How more and more of us women have an inflated sense of our own fabulousness

Lucy Taylor -Daily Mail

Us women are more egocentric and narcissistic than we ever used to be, according to extensive research by two leading psychologists.

More of us have huge expectations of ourselves, our lives and everyone in them. We think the universe resolves around us, with a deluded sense of our own fabulousness, and believe we are cleverer, more talented and more attractive than we actually are.

We have trouble accepting criticism and extending empathy because we are so preoccupied with ourselves.

Am I making you angry by telling you this? It figures. Narcissistic or egotistical women do have an overwhelming sense of entitlement and arrogance.

Evil Genius

The evil daemon, sometimes referred to as the evil genius, is a concept in Cartesian philosophy. In his Meditations on First Philosophy, René Descartes hypothesises the existence of an evil daemon, a personification who is "as clever and deceitful as he is powerful, who has directed his entire effort to misleading me." The evil daemon presents a complete illusion of an external world, including other people, to Descartes' senses, where in fact there is no such external world in existence. The evil genius also presents to Descartes' senses a complete illusion of his own body, including all bodily sensations, where in fact Descartes has no body. Most Cartesian scholars opine that the evil daemon is also omnipotent, and thus capable of altering mathematics and the fundamentals of logic.

Gross National Happiness

Bhutan action over prayer flags

The Buddhist faith attaches huge symbolic importance to the use of flags

The Bhutanese government has warned its citizens not to cut down thousands of young trees every year to make poles for hoisting Buddhist prayer flags.

It said that the felling of trees is a threat to the tiny kingdom's beauty and undermines the government's duty to promote "Gross National Happiness".

The flags are flown by Himalayan Buddhists to help the dead find the right path in their next life.

They believe that the more flag poles put up for the departed the better.

Buddhist monks say fresh poles must be used each time.

Cheer Up

A Memo Designed to Cheer Up the Human Race

by Rosemary Woodruff

Rosemary Woodruff was the wisest, funniest, most beautiful woman of her time.

These days—as we would expect from a Judeo-Christian-Marxist era—it is fashionable for intellectuals to complain about humanity's destructive and pessimistic trend.

While, in all charity we can understand the hive meaning of this pessimism, it is the task of Evolutionary Agents to counter it by repeating: the Genetic Plan is working out perfectly. The human cards are in no position to interfere with the DNA deal.

We are compelled to offer total sympathy and support for the human races when we remember that for the last 5000 years (a mere micro-flick in genetic time) the species have been in a continual frenzy of Mutation and Migration.

The problem is this: a species or an individual without genetic consciousness, caught in the midst of all-out-high-velocity changes, buffeted, overwhelmed by no-let-up metamorphosis, pushed into rapid migration, is understandably confused and, a bit fatigued.

-deoxy

It's a dizzying, Einsteinian exercise in relativity—totally bewildering to a species that had been assured by Newton that every action had an equal and opposite reaction. Nope, no more. The new rule: every action leads to a multiple interaction, intersection—and it's all waves to surf, moving faster and higher.

Myth and Reality

Creativity, Sex and Metaphor

A tauroctony

I come from a family of artists: my sister is a painter and musician; my father a ceramicist and mother a decent amateur painter; my grandmother painted; my grandfather was a sculptor and potter who lived in a spectacularly unsuccessful menage-a-trios in a small village in the Pyrenees ; my great-grandfather was a stunningly good artist and engineer.

Closer to home, my wife is also an artist: Running through them all it seems (and now through my children as well as perhaps myself) is a thick, mercurial streak of unpredictability; a potential big bang of destructive creativity or creative destruction; words that while antonyms, I increasingly realise by no means cancel each other out.

It is a trait or an ability (maybe latent in all of us) that can disturb in some way: for much as creation and destruction are locked in a symbiotic, mutually sustaining embrace when it comes to art, so in some sense are reality and myth: two sides of the same coin; inseparable ingredients of the same primordial stew that you can witness bubbling and splattering everywhere when the heavens or abyss of creativity open up.

A Car for the Ages

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport

...But even if its nav system shouted insults at you, it would be hard to complain about this machine. It is not perfect -- no car will ever be. But it's close. And it will likely remain as close as a car with a gasoline-burning engine will ever get. We're at the end of the petroleum era, the end of a golden age of supercars where speed can be sought regardless of consequence. It's highly unlikely that a major automaker will ever be able to justify spending the time and money to develop a fossil-fuel-powered car that can top the Veyron's combination of power, speed, handling, driveability and flat-out luxury. The Grand Sport is the worthy successor to the Ferrari F40, the Lamborghini Diablo, the McLaren F1 and every other Texas tea-drinker that ever owned the title "world's fastest." And its high-level swank takes that prize with style points nonpareil.

Maybe we'll idolize maglevs next. Maybe Tesla will have its day on a Trapper Keeper with a juice box that tops 250. But whatever we're drooling over next year, whatever makes its way onto the dorm-room walls and man-children's screen-savers, it won't run on petrol. Unless it's still a Veyron: the last king of the gas-guzzlers, forever the greatest. All hail.

Dystopia Rising

The Age of Transitions

The Dystopia Planned For Our Future

"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution."
- Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World

Converging technology, transhumanism, and our future in the making. The cutting edge group known as transhumanists see a beautiful future brought about by artificial intelligence, life extension, and cybernetics. What one must realize before getting carried away with such utopian dreams is that transhumanism was born out of the elitist pseudo-science eugenics. This documentary provides vital information on the history of eugenics and its new cutting edge transformation.

Antichrist

You won't believe who Muslims promote as 'Antichrist'

'The Arrivals,' going viral on Internet

Guess who is being promoted as the "Antichrist" in a new 52-part video documentary making the rounds on YouTube?

The Islamic production company responsible makes the case that the endtimes global leader, also known as "the Beast of Revelation," will actually be the Christian and Jewish Messiah.

According to the documentary's self-description, he writes, its purpose is to, "Explore the Revelations in World Religions Regarding the Arrivals of the Antichrist Dajjal, Imam Al-Mahdi, and The Second Coming of The Christ."

"The documentary is a whirlwind tour of Muslim apocalyptic narratives intermixed liberally with anti-American, anti-Christian, anti-Semitic and anti-Zionist themes," according to Richardson. "Although clearly home-spun, 'The Arrivals' is a magnetic kitchen mix of every conspiracy imaginable with a solid thread of Islamic apocalyptic sermonizing throughout. Images are rhythmically flashed before the viewer of Illuminati and Freemasonry symbols along with the inevitable 'Protocols of the Elders of Zion' anti-Semitic conspiracy themes. And of course, it is all thoroughly topped off with graphic images of Muslim children suffering set to an Omen-like or Godfatheresque soundtrack. Short clips of movies are also liberally pirated throughout. From 'The Lord of the Rings' to 'American Treasure,' the viewer is immediately swept up into an ancient cosmic struggle with the heroic Muslim community fighting for truth against the plotting and scheming Zionists, Christians, Bilderbergers, Illuminati and the Club of Rome. The camera pans over the back of the American dollar bill with its prominent, all-seeing eye too many times to count."
