96 months
Just 96 months to save world, says Prince Charles
The price of capitalism and consumerism is just too high, he tells industrialists
Thursday, 9 July 2009 -Independent
Capitalism and consumerism have brought the world to the brink of economic and environmental collapse, the Prince of Wales has warned in a grandstand speech which set out his concerns for the future of the planet.
The heir to the throne told an audience of industrialists and environmentalists at St James's Palace last night that he had calculated that we have just 96 months left to save the world.
And in a searing indictment on capitalist society, Charles said we can no longer afford consumerism and that the "age of convenience" was over.

Prince Charles has been known to knock back a few before these public engagements... 96 months eh Chuck? That's kinda funny, especially coming from him. The queen has been known to nickel and dime enough to amass the kind of fortune the regular populace wouldn't even begin to fathom. So, I take it his statement is a veiled bid to buy our economically imploded world from us in the not too distant future? Then she can really be "Queen of the World" or make make him "King of the World"!
Not a huge fan of royalty, normally Charley provokes mirth rather than appreciation. I did buy chattin' with plants and I am sympathetic to the whole 'philosopher king' platonic trip. Sans doute, he may be a right royal piss head, we will all be clutching at straws during the coming 96 months including the words of a comedian suddenly concerned about capitalism and consumerism. I don't mind who bakes the bread, as long as it can feed all of the 5000.

I figure he's on target with this, if not generous in his time-frame.
The rest is another conversation.
Remember FOE called the planetary shots 40 years past. Everyone else is too late to the table. Tough chaps, you've blown it, the planet is fucked. RIP all of us.

Coincidentally (but probably not), 96 months falls within the first few months of the administration that succeeds a two-term Obama, should that come to pass.
That's not a hard call, but I doubt whether such a profound paradigm shift is even possible.
The paradigm has shifted, realizing so is a lagging indicator.
Hope ure rite m8 - kindof fits with my own diagnostics, does that stop me being a lag? I did prison once for hijacking but I never once went near those high rise offices, you do believe me don't you Indy?

Every word.
That is almost as concerning as it is re-assuring. D'oh.
