Funny you mentioned "Emancipate yourself from mental slavery"... It kept playing in my mind for ages too.
For me, at first hearing Joe Strummer sing 'Redemption Song', I felt a bit of a shock at that lyric sung by someone other than Bob Marley. I've gotten over that now...it's all good, wherever those resonant words echo from.
I miss both Joe and Bob. Heroes are at a premium these days.
